WHERE THE MAGIC HAPPENS – The Kitchen of George’s Greek Village

At George’s Greek Village, the kitchen is alive with the sizzle of olive oil, the aroma of herbs, and the passion of cooking that fuels every dish owner George Kountourogiannis makes!

This past month, we’ve embarked on an exciting culinary journey, capturing it in a new series of cooking videos called “George’s Kitchen.”

With his infectious enthusiasm, and cooking knowledge, George has been showcasing some of his favorite dishes behind the scenes. Most recently we released a HUMMUS dip video.

What is Hummus Exactly?

Hummus is a smooth and creamy puree made from cooked chickpeas (garbanzo beans), tahini (a paste made from toasted sesame seeds), and an acid, typically lemon juice. While modern hummus recipes often include garlic and olive oil, centuries ago, these ingredients were not always part of the mix. Hummus has been a staple in Middle Eastern, Mediterranean, and North African cuisines for centuries, and it’s enjoyed worldwide due to its delicious flavor and versatility. Whether you dip veggies into it or spread it on sandwiches, hummus is a delightful addition to any meal! 🌱🍽️

3. Lamb Shank: We love the delicious tradition of a classic Lamb Shank dinner and so do our customers. A favourite for years now at the restaurant, a picture says a thousand words!
